Firstly, I’d say the best thrifting is outside of large towns and cities. My best thrift store experiences have actually been by going to thrift stores out in the middle of nowhere as opposed to stores here in NYC, which for the most part, are usually pretty picked through and overpriced. Also, keep in mind that you have the ability to alter most items (and if you don’t, you can teach yourself by reading and practicing). So even if something may seem too big, or not cut quite right, or even too plain, there are ways to decorate and re-size any great items you find. :)
