thepaperflowerslive asked: you are so adorable in your video post! ahaha you seem so awkward and spacey and cute. i think myself and many of your followers will miss your personal style posts terribly, so i wouldn't relinquish it completely since that is where a lot of your fanbase comes from :(
Thanks! I’m always really spacey, and making videos is still a little new to me so I always feel a bit awkward haha. In response to what you said about not relinquishing the style posts completely, what I was trying to say is that what I will be posting, will essentially be style posts. I will just be styling and photographing models, rather than myself. So nothing will change, except that I wont be in as many of the pictures, and I’ll get to explore locations where I normally wouldn’t have for my own personal style posts. It will be a good change, I promise! And when I get a cute outfit that I can’t wait to show you guys I plan on using photo booth still :)
Anonymous asked: What do we wear under see through shirts/dresses? I have a cute dress from H&M but its too see through I don't know what to wear under! Thanks :)
There are actually a lot of different things you can wear under sheer dresses depending on the look you are going for. If you want a more minimal look, and the focus to be mostly on the sheer dress, try wearing a nude bandeau/tank top and a nude cotton miniskirt like this one. Or if you want to add color and texture to the outfit, you can wear a patterned bralette or tank in a pretty color so it stands out underneath the dress, and then pair that with a thin pair of shorts. In the look I just posted, I was just wearing a pink leotard and a pair of lace shorts underneath. Most people would probably recommend a white slip, but I love the way that sheer fabric looks, so I’d feel funny putting something underneath that would completely take away the sheerness of the dress.
Anonymous asked: Hey!! I was just wondering how your health was doing? I remember a few posts back you were talking about how you couldn't gain weight, you went to the doctor and he told you that you were allergic to gluten or something? How's that going? And by the way, marvellous photographs. I love the effect and pretty much everything :)
Thanks! :) The doctor that I saw in back in NYC thought that I might have a gluten allergy, but the blood test showed that it was so minor that I can eat gluten without it affecting me. Now that I’m upstate visiting my family for the weekend, I went to see my normal doctor (because I still haven’t managed to gain any weight). My mom has been really concerned, so I asked him if it was healthy for me to be this size. He checked my height/weight/vitals and said that I’m perfectly healthy at the weight that I’m at now. In fact, he said that if I gained 20 lbs, I would probably be less healthy. He also checked my weight percentile charts which showed that I’ve have been underweight since I was 5 years old, so it’s normal for me to be the weight that I am now because this is how my body is naturally. He actually said “As a parent, I’d probably tell you to gain a couple pounds, but from a medical standpoint, you’re healthy at the weight you are at now” which made my mom feel a lot better. I do need to exercise more to gain muscle, but aside from that I’m perfectly healthy :D I’m really relieved.
thrillofwonder asked: your hair is absolutely glorious. are you a natural blonde? because that gorgeous almost white color would be almost impossible for me to get on mine!
Thank you! ^.^
It is naturally blonde, but more of a medium blonde color. Since it’s already pretty light, dying it to be white-blonde doesn’t do much damage. When I was little, it was this light though! (see reference photo of me on a camping trip when I was five, trying not to pee my pants or something:

Anonymous asked: Looking at a picture of you is like looking at a work of art. You have a gift for putting together clothes in such a way that you create something exquisitely beautiful, and your photography captures such intricacy I find myself unable to stop looking at your pictures. I don't consider myself someone particularly interested or knowledgeable about fashion, but one would have to be blind to not recognize your talent. Thank you for brightening my dashboard with your gorgeous photographs and words.
This completely made my day. Thank you for being so lovely! ❤
Anonymous asked: Hey Elle! So I am absolutely in love with the flower crowns from Free People but they are so incredibly expensive! Do you know of any other places that sell them for a lower price? Lots of love, xx
There are places that sell cheaper ones, but the quality isn’t as nice. They’re actually really easy to make yourself! :) And then you can make it exactly the way you want it. I’ll do a DIY post on how to make them soon.
stephtaur asked: Hi, I love your tumblr. You seem like such a well-adjusted person, I envy you! I had some more precious, interesting questions for you in the past but I always put off asking them because I knew I would have to sign up to ask them, and now I don't remember them. Now for the dumb question: How long did it take for the purple to wash out of your hair? Mine is light purple now, but the upkeep is too much hassle for me so I was just wondering about that. You look beautiful with any hair color!
Aw, thank you! It took about 4 weeks for the purple to fade out for me, and I was washing my hair everyday to speed up the process. The time it takes might depend a little on what brand of dye you used and how vibrant the dye initially was. My hair went through a lot of weird phases when fading; pastel, murky purple/blonde, silvery-gray, then white. Then, once it was white, it took another couple weeks for the blonde tones to start coming back. I miss it sometimes, but mostly I’m really enjoying having low maintenance hair again. Good luck! :)
Anonymous asked: Just curious, are you a model~?
I have modeled for photographers in the past (for those who have asked I’m still waiting to see how the Ryan McGinley shoot turned out!), but I’m not an agency signed model. I’m signed to an agency as a blogger/photographer so that is my main focus. Despite all of the personal style photos I take of myself, I’m really not photogenic. I have asymmetrical features and weak bone structure, which I don’t mind, but I’m not photogenic enough to work as a full time model.
Anonymous asked: How were you able to afford a swimsuit from VS? I thought they were expensive... It's super cute tho!
Thanks! The one I found was not too expensive at all. I think the top and the bottom were each $18 :)
Anonymous asked: As a fellow skinny (or slender, a much friendlier term, don't you think?) gal I was wondering how you could fit into a bandeau top? Maybe it's because I am exceptional small on top, but I hope not, because your swim suit was just so cute and inspired me to want to get a strapless swimsuit!
All of my swimsuit tops are bandeaus actually! :) I’m a 28 AA, so I have the same problem finding tops that fit, but I think for some reason, us small chested individuals are at an advantage because we can wear strapless things without any weight pulling them down. I could see how it might also have the opposite effect, and the top would fall down a lot because of having a smaller chest, but if you find one that is tight enough, it should stay up on it’s own. Definitely try one out and see if it works for you!
Anonymous asked: where did you get your bikini? its so cute!
Thank you! :) Jessie and I went swimsuit shopping in soho a couple of days ago and found really cute bikinis at Victoria’s Secret.
